October Resident Spotlight: Nancy Peters

Born on April 21, 1930, in Summit NJ, Nancy Peters has lived a life rich in music, family, and creativity. Nancy spent five years as a public school music teacher and continues to share her love of music as a har ensemble instructor at The Groton Hill Music Center, where she also composes beautiful harp music.

Throughout her life, Nancy has pursued her passions with gusto–whether sailing, playing the harp, visiting the Cape, or appreciating her mother’s collection of paintings. She takes pride in her many talents, from performing and composing music to teaching and writing. Under the pen name Brenda Marston Bligh, Nancy authored A Slice of Life, a heartfelt book about her experiences raising her foster children.

Family and music are the heart of Nancy’s daily joy. She is the proud mother of four children, and cherishes her time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Nancy’s days are filled with the melodies she loves, the laughter of her family, and the simple pleasures that have made her life extraordinary.
