Who, Me? Thoughts on Driver Evaluation, Driver Rehabilitation, and Driver Retirement.
Kristen Dixon Keilty is an occupational therapist and driving instructor who runs the Keys to Independence, driver evaluation and rehabilitation program at Emerson Hospital’s Center for Rehabilitative and Sports Therapies.
Her program helps people assess their current fitness to drive and make plans for when driver retirement becomes a recommendation or a necessity.

Vision loss has been linked to difficulties with daily living activities, high blood pressure, heart disease, strokes, falls, and depression. People frequently equate loss of visual function to old age and assume that nothing can be done to improve quality of life. However, many elders with vision loss are surprised to learn that they can continue many of the activities they enjoyed before.
